What is the Undergraduate Student Fund (USF)?
The Faculty of Information and Media Studies (FIMS) Undergraduate Student Donation was established in 2009, and is replenished annually by students by collecting $50.00 in each student’s tuition fee. Donations collected enhance the operation of the MIT Student Council (MITSC) through funding of exciting projects, services and events for FIMS undergraduate students that would otherwise not be available.
Not only does this fund enhance the MITSC, it empowers YOU, the students. After all this is YOUR money.
If you have something you would like to do in this faculty, whether it is to bring in a speaker, run an event, get equipment, organize a project, whatever it is, as long as it is beneficial to the general FIMS student population you can apply to this levy to fund your idea.
Please see the USF application form for more detailed information about the fund. Make sure you fill out the form as detailed as possible in order to increase your chances for approval.
The Levy committee will meet to review your application and get back to you about your funding status.
Applications are due October 15th. Send completed applications to fimsusf@uwo.ca or drop your application off at the FIMS Deans Office.
