MTP Focus Group: October 26th, 8PM @ UCC 66

Is MTP Working?

Western and Fanshawe are currently reviewing the structure of the MTP program as a whole, and we need your input. Share your thoughts, questions, and concerns regarding the current state of the MTP program. The issues covered at Wednesday’s focus group will then be presented to the Undergraduate Affairs Committee at the end of the month. Come on out and have a say in your education.

Regardless of whether you can come or not, take the following survey, as we will be using the results as discussion points at the focus group here.

Apply for the MITSC Street Team

The MITSC Street Team is a hand-picked guerilla marketing collective, with the objective to promote all things MITSC. They are responsible for generating buzz, creating impact, and leaving “MIT’s Legend” across campus.

If you are a FIMS student interested in marketing, promotions, or advertising – then this is your chance to gain experience and get creative! Upper years, as well as first years are encouraged to apply.

Complete the application below, and send your answers to mwrigh87@uwo.ca by Sept 29th, at 9pm, with the subject line: “MITSC Street Team Application.” An email will then be sent back with an interview time, which will be held on September 30th, 2011.

Looking forward to meeting all of you. Let’s get aggressive!

-Matt Wright
MITSC Street Team Co-ordinator

Street Team Application Questions:

1. Why are you interested in becoming a member of the Street Team?

2. What ad most recently gained your attention, and for what reason?

3. In your opinion, what makes something go viral?

4. If you had no monetary restraints, describe one way you would promote an MITSC event (think guerilla marketing, get creative, go BEYOND print and digital media).

5. Some members of the Street Team will have opportunities to design posters, produce video, and work on other multimedia projects. If you’re interested in the production aspect of the ST, what relevant knowledge and experience do you have?

First Year Rep Applications

Thank you for your interest in the First Year Rep position on the MITSC. As a first year rep you will be required to come out to all the meetings, run at least one event in the year for first year MIT/MPI/MTP students, and contribute to council as a whole. The MITSC meets on Tuesday nights at 10pm in a UCC conference room. Applications are due Friday September 23rd by 5pm. Please send your applications to FYRapplications@gmail.com. Interviews will be held Sunday September 25th, times will be emailed to you on Saturday. Two (2) First Year Reps will be selected in time for them to attend the council meeting on September 27th.

  • Why do you want to be a part of the MITSC?
  • Give an example of an event you would like to run for first year students if you were given the position.
  • What qualities do you possess that will make you an asset for the MITSC?
  • What kind of leadership/extra-curricular roles (if any) did you take on in high school and how will that experience help you be a successful First Year Rep?
  • How would you motivate first year students to come out to your event?
  • If you were given 3 wishes, what would they be and why?
